Paris, December 10th 2025 – Hexa, the startup studio behind more than 50 tech companies (including Swan, Yousign, Front, Spendesk and Aircall), announces the opening of the Hexa House San Francisco, a new residence-and-work space in the heart of Cole Valley designed to embed founders directly into the world’s most dynamic AI ecosystem.
Featuring living spaces and shared work areas, the house will welcome founders for three-month immersions within Hexa’s Start program, its historic company-building track. The move signals a significant acceleration in Hexa’s shift towards AI, as demonstrated by recently launched AI-first companies such as Dialog, Basalt, and Tandem.
For more than a decade, San Francisco has played a key role in Hexa’s story. Over ten Hexa startups have passed through Y Combinator, including Front, one of its most successful alumni. More recently, many of the studio’s AI-native startups are building between San Francisco and Europe, including Basalt, Rose, Tandem and Dialog. Hexa House San Francisco now extends this trajectory, giving every founder in the Start program direct access to the unique intensity of the Bay Area.
Over the past two years, Europe has seen a growing wave of founders relocate to San Francisco to build AI-first companies. The city has become a true hotspot for this new generation of more technical builders, engineers, researchers, and product-driven entrepreneurs drawn by the unparalleled concentration of talent and the acceleration effect of being embedded in the Bay Area.
“What was once an occasional move has become a broader migration: a dense European community has formed in San Francisco, creating a vibrant environment where everyone is building at remarkable speed. Nowhere else combines such density of talent and creativity, it accelerates your trajectory in a way that simply isn’t replicable from afar. ” - Matthieu Gombeaud, CEO of Hexa
This new San Francisco house fills what Hexa sees as the “missing link” in its Start program. Over the past decade, Start has become one of the most effective company-building engines in Europe: a 12-month journey that has launched more than 50 companies and produced three unicorns.
The program has long provided founders with everything needed to go from 0 to 1: promising startup ideas, co-founder matching, a dedicated Partner acting as a third co-founder, best-in-class operators across product, tech, GTM, talent, and finance, funding, and a high-operating rhythm designed for execution. Today’s announcement adds the last piece to the model: direct access to San Francisco’s AI ecosystem.
“AI changed the rules. To build something huge, founders now need to be close to the ecosystem pushing the frontier. Hexa House San Francisco adds that missing piece and massively boosts founders’ chances of building something big.” - Thibaud Elziere, cofounder of Hexa
